ANALYSIS
One of the many benefits of laser scanning versus conventional surveying is that it records all visible site features at once. This means that while all that was needed initially was a floor plan, the scan data likely contains the walls, ceiling floor and everything in between.

That floor surface can be analyzed for flatness for use by the flooring contractor. An old house party wall will bare all of its secrets on a detailed deviation map. Is it encroaching? Well, now you'll know. Maybe it's something as simple as calculating the volume of a pile of sand, or an excavation. These are perfect applications for point cloud data analysis.
