Point clouds contain enormous amount of data. They define site conditions with mind boggling detail and accuracy. The downside is that point clouds require specialized software and powerful hardware just to be displayed, let alone used for design. Unless point cloud data is part of a functional workflow, it is little more than just a record, a detailed snapshot in time.
